If you have a great fear about something, then you know how difficult it is to get a full and quality-laden life. A person who lives in constant fear will never feel at ease and will never experience a fully living stress and anxiety-free life. For some people, this fear is so great that if they close their eyes right now and imagine their fear, like being in a tall place or a small enclosed area, they may already feel their knees shaking, their breaths getting heavier, and may even feel the start of a panic attack. This only goes to show that a phobia can be very powerful and can cripple a person’s life.

That same situation also shows the power that the mind has over our entire being. By simply imagining the fear, the person feels like he or she is already in that situation. You can use this same mind power to help you, once and for all, rid your fears, and that is through self-hypnosis.

Self-hypnosis is the process wherein a person induces his mind and body to enter into a state, where through hypnosis, he or she can change his or her view or perception about certain aspects. This means that you hypnotize yourself and remove your phobias and fears by suggesting to your brain that you are not afraid of them anymore.

There are two methods in which self-hypnosis can be used to get rid of phobias:
First is the hypnotic script. This method is more effective for persons that have had some experience with hypnosis. This is because it will be a much more difficult process. To do script hypnosis, you will first need to find a place where you can have peace without interruptions. Then, make yourself comfortable and start relaxing. When you get to the state of consciousness where your mind is completely clutter-free, place your right hand over your left hand and tap the top of your left hand using your index and middle finger slowly. While doing this, tell yourself repeatedly that you are completely relaxed. As you get into a deeper relaxed mind, you then try to picture your fears, all the while tapping your hand and saying your script. At first, you may still feel some of the fear coming back, and this is just natural. Hypnosis can’t remove your fears immediately. Just keep on repeating the process until you finally lose all your fears.

The next method is much easier. Unlike the first where you have to put yourself in a relaxed state but still conscious enough to do the tapping and the script, all you need to do is to put yourself in a relaxed state of mind and listen to an audio recording that you bought, downloaded or made giving you the hypnotic suggestion over and over again while slowly putting the image of your fear into your mind.
